Wellington Health Service has extended its opening hours for ambulatory care services, providing extra support to the Wellington community.
The Ambulatory Care unit will now be open to take appointments from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
People will continue to need to make appointments for ambulatory care services at Wellington, and should have their referral from their health professional with them prior to making their appointment.
Acting Health Service Manager, Dara Hobden said the extra opening hours will be great for the local community.
“Extending our opening hours to 6pm will allow people who work during normal business hours the opportunity to access our services after work," Dara said.
“Extending our opening hours will give more flexibility and accessibility for our community to access health services in town."
A range of services available at the Ambulatory Care clinic include wound dressings, IV antibiotics (for patients requiring antibiotics but not requiring admission into hospital) and dressings.
People with an appointment can present to the front entrance of the Wellington Health Service for their appointment with Ambulatory Care. For appointments after 4:30pm, people should present to the Emergency Department entrance for their appointment.
To make an appointment with a referral to Wellington Health Service Ambulatory Care, please phone the Health Service on (02) 6840 7200.
