Repair and renovation work at Coonabarabran Hospital is almost complete, and health service staff are inviting you to come in and see the difference the work has made.
Work has been happening at the hospital since storms and flooding at the start of the year inundated the hospital causing damage and mould.
An Open Day at the hospital on Monday 24 July will give the local community the opportunity experience the improvements that have been made since then.
Local Health Service Manager, Susan Berry, said that the community and staff had been very supportive during the repair work.
“We have had to make several changes to how our services are delivered throughout the work schedule, but with work completed, we’re returning to normal.
“I really want to thank our team here at the health service for working so hard to make sure our patients have received the best care possible.
“I also want to thank the community for its support and patience.”
In addition to the extensive repairs to the roof and guttering, the hospital has been given a facelift with most areas freshly painted, with new floor coverings and light fittings. New security swipe card facilities have been installed, which builds on over $48,000 in improved CCTV security equipment.
“We’re really proud of the service we provide at Coonabarabran Hospital and our workplace is looking better than ever. We want the community to share in that success by joining us at this open day,“ said Ms Berry.
