The Cowra Health Council wants you to know more about your health, and the services available locally to help keep you in good health.
“Last year when we surveyed the local community, we learned that many people weren’t aware of local health groups and services,” said Don Reid, Chair of the Cowra Health Council.
“At the same time, we had groups coming to us asking for help in creating awareness.
“The Health Council is tackling those issues by hosting a free event – “Look Healthy, Live Healthy, Be Healthy” - on Wednesday 11 April, with local speakers talking on some issues of great importance to our community.
“Speakers include local general practitioner, Dr Ros Bullock and Geoff Wilson, who runs the local ‘Choose to Change’ program which focuses on nutrition and lifestyle improvements.
“They will be joined by Peter Moffitt, a solicitor and Chair of the Grenfell Health Council on legal issues that affect many older people and their families such as wills, power of attorney and guardianship,” said Mr Reid.
Following the speakers a mini-expo of Cowra’s health support groups will be open to attendees, with a light supper sponsored by the Western NSW Local Health District.
Look Healthy, Live Healthy, Be Healthy is also an opportunity to recognise the World Health Organization’s World Health Day, which focuses on achieving universal health coverage for people everywhere.
Look Health, Live Healthy, Be Healthy will start at 7pm on Wednesday 11 April at the Cowra Services Club.
