If you are interested in making a difference, Coonabarabran Health Service is seeking interested people from the community to join its Health Council.
Health Service Manager Sue Berry said the Health Council provides an opportunity for people from all walks of life to work together with the Health Service to identify the needs of their community and the services that are required.

Ms Berry said “The Health Council is the voice for the community and helps keep the community informed about what is happening”

The members of our Health Council have been part of the group for a few years and feel now is the time for them to have a break, step down and open the doors for new members to join and bring fresh ideas, said Ms Berry

In the past 12 months the Health Council has been closely involved with projects such as the Healthy Town Challenge, the Mother’s Day Classic, Partnering for a Safer Community and working with Palliative for People.

Future projects on the drawing board for the Health Council include providing support and advice for a Volunteer palliative project and a community education night for End of Life readiness.

The Health Service is keen to involve the community and being on the Health Council provides a way for people to be their community’s voice as well as be directly involved in making a difference in the health outcomes for the community.

You do not need to have health professional experience just an interest in health
