Western NSW Local Health District would like to partner with the community to co-design the Dubbo Gundaymarra – Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
The purpose of the workshop will be to consult with consumers, carers and the broader community in a process of experience based co design to inform the capital works planning at Gundaymarra Dubbo Acute Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
WNSWLHD is partnering with Western NSW Primary Health Network (PHN) for the workshops. PHN is facilitating the workshops for an independent perspective.
WNSWLHD, District Consumer and Care Coordinator Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Jennifer Coote said, “The two workshops will allow for engagement with a variety of stakeholders and the development of a project plan to inform capital works at the unit”.
“We would like to collaborate with consumers and carers who have experience or knowledge of the mental health inpatient unit and work together to improve the service to better meet the needs of the community”.
Consultation with consumers and carers will allow for community recommendations to support change for mental health care in the WNSWLHD.
“We value the input of carers and consumers into the service design. We want to partner with consumers and carers and we recognise their expertise in designing their care”.
If you would like to attend or find out more information please contact Jennifer Coote on 6881 4000.
