The Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) is inviting the community to a sneak peek of the new Cobar Health Service before it opens on 30 January.
Mary Urquhart, Health Service Manager at the Cobar Health Service, said a community walk through is being held on Thursday 23 January from 10-11am.
“We are very excited to let the community in to check out our fantastic new facility, before we officially open the doors,” Ms Urquhart said.
“This much-anticipated upgrade will allow us to continue to provide the best quality healthcare to the community now and into the future.
“The walk-through will give the community a chance to get to know the layout and design of the new facility. Maps and a brochure on the new health service will also be available.”
The new Cobar Health Service brings emergency, medical imaging, dialysis and more community health services under the one roof. The redevelopment also provides the community with an additional 10 residential aged care rooms as part of the Lilliane Brady Village extension, and an Aboriginal courtyard to support healing.
The car park and main entrance to the Cobar Health Service are located off Woodiwiss Avenue. Additional car parking will be available for the walk-through event in the old Community Health building carpark
“A big thank you to the community for your involvement in the redevelopment project, from participating in working groups, developing local art and supporting the process over the past four years,” Ms Urquhart said.
“It’s very exciting to see the finished product and have a brand new facility here in Cobar.”
The new Cobar Health Service redevelopment project is part of the NSW-wide $305 million program of works to upgrade or build multipurpose facilities in rural and regional areas.
