Thursday, 26th April 2012 – IGA Plaza Blayney
The Blayney Health Expo is on again where community members can make contact with service providers and find out what services are available to them.
Providers who offer a service within the Blayney Local Government Area, or who provide an outreach service to residents of the Blayney Shire, will showcase their services to members of the community at the 4th Blayney Health Expo being held on 26 April, from 10am to 1pm.
Many Blayney Shire residents are unaware of services and supports that are available to them, from either within the shire, or as an outreach service. The Health EXPO will be a great opportunity for them to find out what services are actually available, said organiser Sally Bembrick, chair of Blayney Interagency and HealthOne Integration Coordinator.
Blayney Interagency meets every 3 months and there are currently 80 service providers listed on the database that provide a service to Blayney. This Expo provides an opportunity for service providers and organisations to promote their services.
Ms Bembrick hopes that residents of the Blayney Shire will support these organisations and take the time to visit the EXPO on the 26th April. “This is their chance to see what services are available, and to meet and talk with service providers. If services are not used it is assumed that they are not needed and we risk losing them” Ms Bembrick said.
“The Expo is ideal if you have a question in relation to service provision within the Blayney Shire and it is also a great opportunity for students to visit stands and to discuss possible career pathways” she said.
Interagencies attending on the day will include Relationships Australia (Bathurst Family Relationship Centre), McGrath Breast Care Nurse, HealthOne Blayney service providers, Meals on Wheels, Evans Community Options, Bathurst Women’s Refuge, Aged Care Assessment Team, Community Pharmacist, Benevolent Society – Saver Plus and Brighter Futures, Care West, Sexual Health and Hep C, Aboriginal Maternal Infant Health Service, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Breast Screen, Headspace, Uralba Carcoar, Migrant support, Carelink & Respite Centre, CW Community and kids, CWCC Tenants Advisory Service.
The Blayney Health Expo will be held on Thursday, 26 April at the IGA Plaza in Blayney from 10am to 1pm. The Blayney Rotary will once again be providing a barbecue on the day.
