The Dietetics Adviser for the Western NSW Local Health District will present the case for better nutrition in public hospitals to the Hong Kong Hospital Authority New Territories Eastern Cluster hospitals.
Elizabeth Scott will fly out to Hong Kong next week (Tuesday 22 May 2012) to attend the Dietetics Service Commissioned Training 2012 as a keynote speaker to delegates at the forum.
Ms Scott was invited to make a presentation at the forum after the Bathurst and Orange Base Hospitals were recently awarded an excellent achievement rating for nutrition when the hospitals undertook accreditation for their programs.
“I am really excited about the opportunity to talk to international delegates about our nutrition program which runs across health services in the Local Health Districts,” said Ms Scott.
“Having an excellent achievement in nutrition is a great honour and now sharing what we have done with hospitals in Hong Kong is very satisfying and should also progress our work here further.
“The main focus of our work has been improving the patients’ nutrition care journey and optimising nutritional intake while in hospital. This has progressed alongside an increasing focus on hospital nutrition across the country, and indeed internationally.” Ms Scott said.
Media is invited to talk with Ms Scott ahead of her exciting journey on Monday 21 May at 10.30am at Bathurst Base Hospital.
