Dr Robin Williams, Chair of Western NSW Local Health District Board today announced the appointment of Dr Pim Allen as interim Chief Executive of the Local Health District.
“Dr Allen, has a surgical and administrative background and currently lives in Christchurch, New Zealand and is very familiar with the Western NSW Local Health District having been commissioned by outgoing Chief Executive Ron Dunham to conduct a review of medical leadership and governance in 2011,” said Dr Williams.
Ron Dunham was appointed Chief Executive of the Western NSW Local Health District in May 2011 and recently announced his resignation due to family illness.
Dr Williams said Dr Allen has held senior health positions in New Zealand and most recently worked in Tasmania and Western Australia.
“Her extensive experience in medical leadership roles in Australia, New Zealand and the UK and knowledge of our Local Health District will help to ensure a seamless transition into the position,” said Dr Williams.
“In particular she will be able to further progress the organisational changes that Mr Dunham has put into place.”
Dr Allen will relocate to Dubbo and commence an orientation into the acting role on Monday 27th of August with Mr Dunham whose last day as CE is Friday 31st of August.
Dr Allen will remain in the position until the recruitment process currently underway for a permanent Chief Executive is finalised before the end of the year.
