Chair of the Western NSW Local Health District Board, Dr Robin Williams today announced the appointment of Scott McLachlan as new Chief Executive of the Western NSW Local Health District.
Dr Williams said the appointment will take effect from early February 2013.
“I am delighted about the Chief Executive appointment for the Western NSW LHD and look forward to working with Scott McLachlan on cementing the good work that is underway in the Local Health District,” said Dr Williams.
Scott McLachlan has held leadership roles in health for the past 16 years with the most recent as the Director of Operations for the Hunter New England Local Health District.
“Scott and his partner Sarah have been living in Tamworth and are now looking forward to the opportunity of new experiences around Dubbo and surrounding regions,” said Dr Williams.
Dr Williams said the LHD is fortunate to have a highly experienced leader with an understanding of rural health issues to take the organisation forward.
“Scott is passionate about improving health outcomes for disadvantaged rural people and communities and is greatly looking forward to joining the communities and people of western NSW,” said Dr Williams
The Western NSW LHD Board would like to sincerely thank Dr Pim Allen for all her excellent work as interim Chief Executive who replaced Ron Dunham at short notice after he resigned from the position in August for family reasons.
