Western Nsw Lhd Welcomes New Director Of Operations

Chief Executive of the Western NSW Local Health District, Scott McLachlan, has announced the appointment of Lindsey Gough as the new Director of Operations for the District, taking effect from the 29th of July.

“I am very excited about Lindsey’s appointment to the Executive Leadership Team for the Western Health District and look forward to working with her on implementing strategic plan for the District to position us as world leaders in rural health,” said Scott McLachlan.

“The Director of Operations role is a crucial position in the team which takes the lead in steering the day to day operations of our health services and works strategically with the rest of the Executive Leadership Team to ensure that patient care is prioritised and that we provide timely services as close to home as possible,” he said.

Lindsey Gough has wide and varied experience in healthcare management both from the UK and Australia with experience spanning acute hospital management, primary and integrated care and community based service provision. She brings experience from South Australia as General Manager of the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Executive Director of Central Adelaide Area Health Service and from Queensland as Executive Director of Medicine at Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. 

Lindsey has also spent time working for Health Workforce Australia leading national projects on Expanded Scope of Practice for physiotherapy and nursing staff in both acute and rural and remote settings.

She has a clinical background as a biomedical scientist, specialising in Histopathology and Cytopathology. Along with qualifications in Biomedical Science Lindsey also holds a Masters Degree in Public Service Management.

Lindsey and her husband Paul are keen sports fans and follow soccer, rugby and cricket. Paul plays both soccer and cricket and is also a keen golfer.

“Lindsey is very happy to be joining the team at Western NSW LHD and both Lindsey Paul are both very much looking forward to joining the Dubbo community.

“I would like to thank Brad Astill and Joy Adams who have jointly filled the role after Lynne Weir resigned earlier in the year,” said Scott McLachlan.
