Molong Health Service will have a fresh look in the New Year with new vinyl flooring to replace its old carpeting.
Molong Health Service Manager Susan Harrison said hospital staff are looking forward to the new flooring creating a brighter atmosphere for the hospital.
“The vinyl floor covering will also be easier to maintain and safer for our patients and visitors,” she said.
Work on the new flooring will commence on Monday, 13 January. The main entrance of the hospital will be affected for a couple of days, with clear signage of an alternative entry to be marked on those days.
“We are aiming to minimise disruption to service delivery as much as possible during the process of removing the old carpet and replacing it with the new floor covering,” Ms Harrison said.
“The Emergency Department will continue to function as usual, and any affected patients will be relocated within the hospital”.
Molong HealthOne will also have re-opened following its Christmas slow-down period by the time the renovations commence.
Improving the patient experience is one of the priorities of Western NSW Local Health District’s Strategic Health Services Plan 2013-16.
