To help you get on track and stay motivated throughout the year, Canowindra Dietitian and the Community Health team are running an event ‘Pathway to Fitness and Health’ at the Canowindra Fitness Path (Tom Clyburn Sports ground) on Wednesday 18 February, during Australia’s Healthy Weight Week (AHWW), February 17-23.
Australia’s Healthy Weight Week raises awareness of the importance of achieving and maintaining a healthy weight and a healthy lifestyle. With statistics for overweight and obesity as high as 63% in Australian adults and 25% in Australian Children and health problems such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease becoming more common it has never been a better time to improve your family’s health, eating, weight and fitness.
Dietitians have sound university qualifications and skills to provide expert nutrition and dietary advice to both groups and individuals. A Dietitian is your diet coach – they can tailor an eating plan to your individual lifestyle and support and motivate you to make changes for life.
The ‘Pathway to Fitness and Health’ session includes a series of activities such as cooking demonstrations, weight and waist circumference measurements, serving size displays, label reading activity and exercise session. The event will also provide an excellent opportunity to meet your local dietitian and the community health team, get updated and correct information, see the variety of programs run in your community for adults and children to improve health, as well as lots of freebies and giveaways!
The event will be held at the Canowindra Fitness Path, Wednesday 18th February between 9am and 1pm. No booking is required.
