The first two months of the year have come and gone already! How are those New Year resolutions coming along?
The Wellington Healthy Town Challenge is now in full swing. To help you achieve your goals, the organisers will be providing useful health tips for the next five months, helping with nutrition, physical activity and overall tips on healthy living.
Being healthy has different meanings for everyone, there’s no perfect size, weight, shape or height that defines being healthy. Being healthy comes is internal as much as it is external. It’s about how you feel, how your body works and how reasonably your body does what you want it to do. Remember: “health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." (World Health Organisation). Having a good diet and participating in regular physical activity is a really big thing you can do to help look and feel great.
The Wellington Healthy Town Challenge is here to help. Contact Wellington Health Service on (02) 6840 7210 or Wellington Aboriginal Corporate Health Services on (02) 6845 3545 for more information; ask about current activities happening in our town and how you can get involved.
