Women’s Health Week: No More Elephants!

When it comes to health, every woman has an elephant in the room. We often don’t take the time to ask questions, seek out credible information and work out a sound plan of action. Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week 2015 (7-11 September) will be getting rid of those elephants in the room.

To celebrate the week, Western NSW Local Health District and Family Planning NSW invites local women to come along to a Let’s Talk women’s gathering on Thursday, 3 September 2015, from 6-8 pm at the Jacaranda Room, RSL Club Dubbo.

Across five days, Women’s Health Week will be online and on-the-ground, giving women across Australia the chance to learn more about their health and hear about issues they might not usually discuss.

Free events, articles, videos, podcasts, recipes, tools and much more will be supported by a range of experts from Jean Hailes, Australia’s leading and most trusted women’s health organisation.

A range of high-profile ambassadors will be supporting Women’s Health Week, including: Denise Scott, live comic performer; Jennifer Kyte, Seven News presenter; Shelley Ware, presenter on NITV’s Marngrook Footy Show; and Andrew O’Keefe, co-host of Weekend Sunrise on the Seven Network.

“This is a great opportunity for women to find out what they need to know, what they want to know and what’s not being talked about,” says Jean Hailes Executive Director Janet Michelmore.

“Women’s Health Week is a fabulous time of online events, women getting together and celebrating all that is women’s health,” says Jean Hailes psychologist and Head of Translation Dr Mandy Deeks.

To RSVP to the Dubbo event, please call Family Planning NSW on 02 6885 1544.Light refreshments will be provided.
