Hand Sanitising Relay At Bathurst Hospital

It will be all hands on deck on Tuesday when staff and volunteers at Bathurst Hospital participate in a Hand Sanitising Relay to raise awareness about the importance of good hand hygiene.

Bathurst Hospital Infection Prevention & Control Clinical Nurse Consultant Linda Thomas said the relay is an initiative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and is an innovative opportunity to further promote hand hygiene towards patient and health worker safety.

“This a great opportunity to promote the importance of good hand cleaning practices for disease prevention and good health,” she said.

“Nowhere is this more important than in a hospital setting and it’s something we take very seriously at Bathurst Hospital”.

Ms Thomas said the aim of the relay is to get as many staff in a row to perform correct hand hygiene.

“We are really looking forward to the day and hope to see as many staff and hospital volunteers participating as possible”.

The Relay will be held in the front foyer of Bathurst Hospital on Tuesday, 1 September from 2.30pm.
