Construction works at the Walgett Multipurpose Service (MPS) have commenced, with temporary fencing and signage erected throughout the facility.
People entering the Walgett MPS should be aware that workpeople will be walking around on site, particularly in a number of shared public areas where works will be undertaken.
There are currently no changes to entrances or exits at the MPS, including the Emergency Department, and community members should continue accessing all health services at the MPS as normal.
Future changes to the way people access the facility will be communicated to the community as they occur, which is expected early 2016.
Strategies have been put in place to manage noise and dust during the construction period.
The MPS Program is aimed at improving access to health and aged care services in rural and remote communities.
