Health Councils provide an opportunity for people of the community to work with Health Service Managers to identify the needs of their community and the services that are required.
Coolah Health Council currently has two vacancies and is seeking interest from members of the community. Its current member are: Garry Connelly, Liz Stevenson, Jill Powell, Trista Stibbard, Fiona Luckhurst, Steve Billet & Randolf Rindfleish
Garry Connelly , Chairperson said the Health Council members were committed to giving their community a voice on issues that affect the health and well-being of people in and around Coolah.
Over the past few years the Health Council has secured the services of a visiting Dentist and has been involved in representing Coolah at Local Health District forums. “Our priorities for the next two years include continued involvement in the MPS redevelopment “ said Garry.
Coolah Health Service Manager, Ann Taylor is encouraging people from all walks of life to apply to be a member on the Health Council. “They do not need to have health professional experience, they just need to have an interest in the health of the community and want to make a difference” said Ann.
At a minimum, membership requires attendance to monthly Health Council meetings, but there is also opportunity to participate on committees and workshops associated with your personal interest.
