Conference attracts International speakers to Orange

Radiation Therapists and Radiographers from Western NSW Local Health District and from across the state will converge on Orange to attend the second annual Radiation Cup Conference.

The Conference will cover research, technologies and innovations occurring in the areas of Radiation Therapy and Radiography. Organisers have been very fortunate to attract guest speakers from the UK and the USA.

Chief Radiation Therapist at Orange Health Service, Rod Hammond said the conference is a great opportunity for rural professionals to attend a top class educational and networking event.

“This is a great opportunity to bring Radiation Therapists, Radiographers and other health professionals together from across the state for an opportunity to gain an international perspective on best practice in our industry," Rod said.

“We are also pleased that major vendors such as Toshiba, AlphaXRT and Carestream will be presenting on their latest technologies and innovations at the Conference."

“We are very excited that the conference has expanded this year to include the inaugural New Graduate prize which is awarded to the best New Graduate research presentation. The conference also coincides with the annual meetings for the NSW Chief Radiation Therapists and NSW Radiation Therapists Educators groups and also the AGM for the NSW Branch of The Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT) being held in Orange on the same weekend."

Social events organised for the evening of the conference make it a great educational, networking and fun event. The event attracts Radiation Therapy and Radiography professionals from across NSW which helps promote Orange as a great place to live and work.

“As the hosts of the second Radiation Cup Conference, it is a great opportunity to showcase our world-class health services here in Orange which we are very proud of," Rod said.
