Narromine Health Service reminds community about social and respite programs

Narromine Health Service would like to remind the community about some exciting programs at Narromine Community Health.

Narromine's wonderful health workers provide home support services, community nurse visits where appropriate, social support, early childhood, Aboriginal Health and some visiting allied health services.

Narromine Health Service would also like to let the community know activity days for seniors are still held at the Community Health Centre.

Social days are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10am until 2pm and transport is available to and from home in the bus. A lovely morning tea and two course lunch are provided for a small cost.

Activities are undertaken at the centre and day trips out and about in the bus are also run. It is a great way to continue socialising within the community when circumstances prevent us doing it on our own. We have recently refurbished the room with fresh paint, new tables and chairs and have places available if anyone is interested in joining the group. Access to the community health nurse is also available for any health concerns.

Our Centre-based Respite Activity Service is also run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you or someone you know is caring for a relative or friend, they can get a few hours break while knowing their loved one is in good hands. Like our social days, our respite days operate from 10am until 2pm and include a lovely morning tea and two course lunch at a small cost. Activities are undertaken at the centre and day trips out and about in the bus are also run.

If you are interested in the social and activities days or the respite service, please feel free to contact Nursing Unit Manager Jessica Ceeney or the Social Activities Centre coordinator Kim King on (02) 6889 9600.
