Take your next step with us!

The Western NSW Local Health District aims to recruit health professionals who are current Australian Citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.  However, workforce shortages of Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives may create the need from time to time to recruit health professionals who have received their education and training overseas.

Individual job advertisements will explicitly state whether we are able to sponsor working visas for our eligible nursing and midwifery positions.

If you are seeking sponsorship to an eligible position, you will be required to identify your residency status, AHPRA information, experience and credentials. Our Local Health District will then work with you through the application and immigration process.

International recruitment by the Western NSW Local Health District has made a key contribution to the delivery of high quality clinical services, especially in areas where recruitment is historically hard to fill. This has enabled us to continue the delivery of high standards of patient care, maintain safe levels of care, retain local staff, and form a diverse workforce more reflective of the cultural background of our patients seeking care.
