Residents in Western NSW are being invited to help shape the future of health services in their community, with expressions of interest now open for the Northern Sub Region Health and Planning Committee.
Those who have an interest in health are encouraged to join the Committee and help create a strong community voice that will help guide the planning, design and delivery of services and programs within the Health District.
WNSWLHD Director Health Intelligence, Planning and Service Development, Maryanne Hawthorn said this is part of the first phase of work to transform the Health District’s community engagement.
“Expressions of interest is being sought to fill community representative positions on the Northern Sub Regional Health Planning Committee, from Bourke, Brewarrina, Collarenebri, Goodooga, Lightning Ridge and Walgett,” Ms Hawthorn said.
“The purpose of the Sub Region Health Planning Committee is to provide a shared forum for community and stakeholders to partner together in health service planning and delivery within the region.”
Committee members will be required to attend quarterly meetings.
“We are looking for people who are passionate about improving health service quality and safety and who are willing to use their experience to represent the needs of all of our communities” Ms Hawthorn said.
“Community representatives will be a resident of the town they are representing on this committee. Representatives should be willing to be a visible and accessible presence in the local community and willing to seek feedback on local issues and priorities as needed. The representative will also act as a conduit between the community and the health service or WNSWLHD where necessary.”
Successful committee members will be paid for their time in line with NSW Health guidelines.
Applications can be submitted via this link and will close on Friday 16 December.
