Our rural referral hospitals and procedural hospitals are based in cities connected by air directly to capital cities on the eastern seaboard and when at home, you can enjoy great value housing and a wide range of activities from sport – including water sports, fresh produce supporting an enviable restaurant scene, vibrant arts community, national parks, festivals and friendly locals who really value having you as part of the community.

“The opportunities in Dubbo far outweighed any in Sydney, the colleagues I work with are young and dynamic – I’d be battling away in Sydney for years trying to get a similar position”

Dr James Collett
Kidney Specialist Dubbo

What our people say….

Hear from our team as to their experience working in our Health District

“You get a good mix of all types of cases, there are no super sub-specialties to send patients to, so you can apply your trade and work with the major sub-specialties who you know well to care for your patients. It is a truly collegiate place to work”

Dr Randall Greenberg
Former Head of Emergency, Dubbo

“Dubbo is big enough for career satisfaction but small enough that you know everyone – but collegiality doesn’t end there, we also have great working relationships with specialists based in the large Sydney Hospitals – we don’t feel isolated at all”

Dr Tim Stanley
Head of ICU, Dubbo

Fast track careers – here’s proof. By 35 years of age, Dr Florian Honeyball was in his fourth year as a consultant, sitting on several regionally focused panels, chair of his clinical stream across our district and well positioned for a move into management.
