The Brewarrina Multipurpose Service (MPS) has 12 long stay beds and one Respite bed. A General Practitioner (GP) services the MPS daily as VMO and on call for emergencies. Brewarrina MPS provides many services to the community.

Brewarrina is 370km north west of Dubbo. The township has numerous shops including, cafes, two supermarkets, a fuel station, caravan park, Hotel, RSL Club (with excellent Chinese restaurant), a pharmacy, a butcher shop and stock and station agents. There is a choice of schools and child care centres, the Mary McKillop Foundation, Aboriginal Cultural Museum with guided tours of the fish traps, Visitor Information Centre with the Local Heritage Museum, and many other stores and services located throughout the town.
Brewarrina is set on the banks of the Barwon River overlooking the ancient fish traps and is a mecca for those keen on fishing. Each year on the June long weekend, the Brewarrina Big Fish attracts participants from across Australia. Sporting facilities included at Brewarrina are an 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, a Clay Target Club, football and cricket ovals.
