The Coonamble Multipurpose Service (MPS) has 28 beds allocated which include Residential High Care – 18 beds, includes 2 respite beds and Acute Cluster beds – 8 acute beds, (4 single rooms and 2 double rooms) and 3 dialysis chairs.
The MPS provides a 24hr Emergency Department. There are five Medical officers in Coonamble, four of which have visiting rights to the Coonamble MPS. Three of the doctors are from Ochre Health (Castlereagh Medical Centre) and one from the AMS (Aboriginal Medical Service). There is no onsite Doctor but 24 hour medical service is provided.
A full time Radiographer and Sonography service is available at the hospital. Medical Imaging is able to be viewed on Merlin Web at the time of service, but are reported on in Dubbo electronically.
The Community Health Department is Located within the MPS, which includes:

Coonamble MPS aims to provide a seamless service to the community based on the Primary Health Care Model. We are working towards a comprehensive flow of information between service providers to facilitate an easy transition between the community and hospital setting for persons requiring health services.
To this end we invite you to actively participate in hospital and departmental activities, to liaise with peers and other service providers to ensure that we do constantly strive to have healthy rural and remote communities and excellence in healthcare.

Coonamble is located on the banks of the fast flowing Castlereagh River. It is primarily a agriculture and stock producing community which encompasses the villages of both Gulargambone and Quambone.
The lively town boasts a shopping precinct of cafes, boutique shopping, Outback Arts Gallery, numerous accommodation options and endless sporting activities. Coonamble’s heritage is rich, it can be viewed at the Coonamble Visitor Information and Exhibition Centre or the Museum Under the Bridge which was the former colonial police station.
