Our Occupational Therapy team
Occupational Therapy services enable clients to achieve independence in meaningful roles, within safe environments.
Occupational Therapists achieve this through assessment of the client and their environment, functional retraining, recommendation of equipment, and/or modifications, therapeutic programs, education, discharge planning and consultation.
Our Occupational Therapists work to improve functional ability, safety and quality of life for people in our communities. Occupational Therapists work to prevent the recurrence of hospital admission/inappropriate placement and decreasing the burden on the community and community based services.
Our Occupational Therapists work within a variety of multidisciplinary and single discipline clinical approaches, including:
- individual therapy;
- case management;
- group therapy, partnership with families.
Our Occupational Therapists also partner with other sectors, for example, the Department of Education, Department of Housing, Home and Community Care, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Aging and Disability and Home Care.
