Physiotherapy

Our physiotherapy team

Our physiotherapy service is of a high standard, with a dedicated core of experienced and highly competent practitioners. All Western NSW Local Health District physiotherapists are required to register with the NSW Registration Board.

Our physiotherapists provide services across the continuum of care. All sites with physiotherapists provide both inpatient and outpatient care. The amount of community and health improvement activity that physiotherapists are involved in is variable across the health district.

The proportion of inpatient to non-inpatient work increases with the size of the hospital. That is to say that as the hospital size increases so does the percentage of time spent treating people who have been admitted to hospital, compared to other health service users. In addition, as the hospital size increases so does the number of specialist physiotherapy positions.

It is of utmost importance that our physiotherapists continue to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to maximise patient outcomes and ensure the diverse needs of patients are being met.
