Our nutrition and dietetics team
Dietitians work in a variety of positions across our health district, including clinical dietitians, food service dietitians and dietitians based in primary and community health settings.
Clinical dietitians work in the major hospitals providing a clinical nutrition service to support patient recovery and to address disease specific nutritional problems. There are several specialist positions in the areas of renal disease, oncology, diabetes, mental health and sub-acute care.
Food service dietitians oversee the provision of food in all our facilities to ensure food provided to patients meets the high nutritional standards required in healthcare.
Primary and community health-based dietitians provide a range of services, from individual dietetic counselling, to practical group sessions. They are often involved in outreach services to smaller towns and are also involved in providing clinical nutrition services in smaller healthcare facilities.
